Bill Busbice is a well-known business mogul and entrepreneur. He served as the Chairman appointed by the Governor and a member of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission from 1998 to 2004. He is better recognized for his entrepreneurial endeavors in various industries over the years. He was once the owner of Ace Transportation, an oil and gas trucking company that was once ranked in Acadiana’s “Top 100 Businesses.”
Bill has been married to his wife, Beth, for 36 years. They are proud parents to Matt, Ryan, and Sarah. The Busbices are ardent philanthropists as much as they are business people. For the past few years, Bill and Beth have passionately funded the Children’s Dream Fund that supports children with disabilities and terminal illnesses. They also help out with the Buckmasters’ Life Hunts. Bill is involved in as many philanthropic efforts to spread good will as he is in business efforts. He is always incredibly excited about the new businesses he starts because their success means he has more to give to philanthropic causes later. Bill likes to call himself a venture philanthropist, rather than a venture capitalist.
Bill’s latest endeavor is an innovative mobile app called HWY Pro, developed for the trucking industry. Bill is putting his experience running a trucking company to good use with HWY Pro, which aims to streamline product transportation for truckers. It’s similar to what Uber is doing with commuters. HWY Pro can dramatically increase the efficiency of how truckers access products and deliver loads to end destinations. HWY Pro aims to eliminate time waste associated with traditional methods in the industry and overall improve the lives of truckers.
HWY Pro was launched in August 2017 and is already facilitating efficient methodology for truckers. The trucking community is known to be beholden to archaic methods like using “load boards.” HWY Pro uses digital functions like “load insight” in the app to expedite product loading and dispatching. Truckers can use the app to take on tens of thousands of loads at once and almost instantly plan the dispatches. Using HWY Pro also eliminates most paperwork, like invoicing. As a result, truckers can spend less time organizing loads and more time with families.
